In a VERITAS Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC environment, VERITAS Cluster Server provides a low latency interconnect to improve the performance and scalability of the Oracle CacheFusion technology. This technology runs on top of low cost, well understood, Ethernet connections, no proprietary interconnects are needed.

VERITAS Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC also includes I/O Fencing technology that prevents database corruption if a cluster split brain occurs. The VERITAS I/O Fencing implementation is the most robust in the industry, protecting aginst interconnect failures, interconnect timeouts, node hangs, and a varity of other failure mechanisms.
