USED EVERON SNAPSHOT
EverON Snapshot technology allows you to capture multiple online point-in-time images of StorFS file systems. Each snapshot is a read-only, consistent copy of the file system which is used to protect data from accidental deletion or a disaster. EverON Snapshot is the foundation of data protection solutions for ONStor Clustered NAS systems.

Near Instantaneous Data Protection
Up to 48 point-in-time images of each hosted file system can be recorded on either a scheduled or on-demand basis. Regardless of file system size or activity, snapshots are created near instantaneously while applications are running. Since only file system differences are recorded, an incremental snapshot incurs very minimal additional storage capacity. For fault tolerance, the images may be accessed by any of ONStor Clustered NAS system in a cluster. All of the security attributes are maintained with the snapshot copy to ensure any recovery is authorized. This means that users can be safely authorized to recover their own lost data, releasing IT staff from tedious tasks.
Rapid Data Restore
The ability to almost instantaneously recover an individual file or a complete file system from any of these read-only snapshot images protects against accidental or malicious deletion, corruption or overwriting of files. When a disaster such as a failed software application upgrade, user error that accidently deletes valuable file or a virus strikes traditional data recovery from tape can cost enterprises significant productivity, opportunity costs and revenue. EverON DataRestore provides very rapid recovery mechanism by reverting selected file systems to an earlier EverON Snapshot image of the file system. The entire recovery using a simple single command is almost instantaneous regardless of the size of the file system.
