REFURBISHED IBM SYSTEM Z10 EC MAINFRAME
The IBM System z10 EC mainframe is more energy efficient and takes up less space than competitive systems
- The z10, with the equivalent capacity of nearly 1,500 x86 servers, has an 85% smaller footprint and provides up to 85% lower energy costs, allowing for up to 100% utilization.
- Since 1995, IBM has continuously reduced System z power usage per MIPS. In fact you can activate additional processors for only 20 watts each. To put that in perspective, System z, in published benchmarks, uses about 14% less power than HP Superdome.
- For even more perspective, in a Core Banking Benchmark for Bank of China, an IBM System z9 EC—a generation behind the z10—used approximately 13.9% less power per core transaction than the comparable Superdome configuration in a Temenos T24 Benchmark published by HP.
- And in comparison to the z9, the z10 EC delivers over 50% more performance, up to 70% more capacity, 300% more memory and has nearly 2.5x the clock speed.
