The HP StorageWorks MSL5052SL Tape Library is a high-density backup and restore solution, featuring multi-unit modular scalability, hot plug drives, dual redundant power supplies and five cPCI I/O slots for maximum reliability, uptime and investment protection. The 5052SL simplifies managing backup and restore operations with a GUI-based touch screen, user-friendly control panel and management and diagnostics utilities, such as StorageWorks Tape Storage Management Console (TSMC).

  • Up to four hot plug SDLT 110/220GB drives and the ability to upgrade to future drive technologies
  • Backup performance of up to 158.4 GB/hour, for a single unit
  • 52 cartridge slots (including two mail slots) for a native capacity of 5.72 TB
  • Ultra2 LVD SCSI interface
  • Two mail slots for cartridge exchange without interrupting backup or restore functions
  • Removable cartridge magazine for convenient offsite storage
  • Available in rackmount and tabletop configuration
  • Windows NT, Windows 2000, NetWare, Tru64 UNIX, and OpenVMS operating system support using industry standard application software, in direct SCSI attached configurations or in a Storage Area Network (SAN) configuration
