The Brocade Silkworm 24000 Director is a highly reliable, highly extensible, blade-based solution for deploying enterprise-class SANs in mission-critical environments.
Available in 64 or 128 2Gbit/sec full-duplex port configurations, the Silkworm 24000 builds upon the field-proven SilkWorm 12000 Director with improved performance, reduced latency, higher port/domain ratio, lower total cost of ownership, and the option to upgrade to higher-speed connectivity in the future.
The Silkworm 24000 supports key applications including data backup, remote mirroring, and high-availability clustering as well as high-volume transaction processing applications such as ERP and data warehousing.
The SilkWorm 24000 is designed to integrate with heterogeneous open environments including Windows NT, UNIX, Linux, Solaris, and AIX, as well as mainframe environments using FICON.

- Full fabric architecture 239 switches maximum
- Supports unicast, multicast (256 groups), and broadcast data traffic
